Nonprofit Foundation and Coalition for Internet Safety Education and Reform to serve as resource to community educators who are teaching importance of online privacy, safety, and age-appropriate content.
Yoursphere Media, Inc., announced today it has launched the Foundation and Coalition for Internet Safety Education and Reform. This new nonprofit, established to encourage the widespread adoption of online safety tools and technologies, will serve as a resource for Internet and social networking safety education programs.
The Foundation is developing a network of community educators who are providing children, parents, teachers and schools the practical tools they need for a safe and positive experience in the digital world.
“We saw an opportunity to support the important efforts of the Internet safety educators and teachers who are in schools and in the community working every day to help children and families stay safe online,” said Mary Kay Hoal, president of Yoursphere Media, Inc. “We will be helping educators through financial, material and program support. The Foundation is a natural extension of our company’s goals.”
The Foundation will operate based on the philosophy that the appropriate use of technology and social media provides a multitude of benefits to today’s youth. Learning about the world, connecting with others and expressing ideas and opinions online are now an established part of growing up. Instead of teaching children and parents only about online dangers, the foundation will provide proactive, solutions-focused education for families with kids of all ages.
The Foundation welcomes educators, teachers, speakers and technology companies to join its coalition and help provide the education and solutions children and their families need. To learn more, visit http://www.Yoursphere.com/EducationFoundation
