The Digital Family Summit, a first-of-its-kind conference for teens and their families, will host hands-on workshops and interactive sessions that inspire budding bloggers and entrepreneurs on 6/29-7/1/2012.

The Digital Family Summit is an interactive, hands-on conference for teen digital media creators and their families. Join professionals from Columbia University, Entertainment Weekly, Parsons School of Design and a host of tween and teen bloggers and entrepreneurs for a weekend of fun activities, interactive and hands-on workshops, thought leadership and personal guidance 6/29-7/1 at the Sheraton Society Hill in Philadelphia, PA.  The workshops are geared towards teens 13-18 and their parents, but there will also be some activities for younger kids aged 4-12.  Conference tickets include 6 meals, snacks, and all activities; (hotel not included)  Prices range from $150-$300 per person, depending on the number of family members. June 1, 2012, Philadelphia PA –This year’s inaugural Digital Family Summit( held in Philadelphia June 29-July 1), includes over 20 sessions where teens and their families can learn about all aspects of blogging and digital media creation. The sessions include hands-on workshops, inspirational keynotes by prominent blogging teens, parents, and internet experts, plus panel discussions about some hot-button topics for parents and teens alike.

“There’s something for everyone,” said Stephanie Schwab, one of the organizers of the summit. “Whether you are an experienced blogger and Twitterer or you can’t tell Facebook from Foursquare, we are confident that everybody will be able to walk away from the conference inspired and ready to start creating.”

The Next Steve Jobs? Meet the New Teen Entrepreneurs
You won’t want to miss these inspiring stories from three young entrepreneurs. Find out how Tori Molnar (founder of MyUtoria and She Can Make Change), Daniel Brusilovsky (founder of Teens in Tech) and Nick Normile (founder of Foodie at Fifteen and budding venture capitalist) got their businesses off the ground and what their plans for the future are. They will share practical advice and tips based on their experiences.

Write On! Writing Skills Workshop for Bloggers
Take your blog writing to the next level. Entertainment Weekly Senior Editor Abby West shares her insights on effective blog writing, including a discussion of voice and point of view, writing with SEO in mind, the special art of writing reviews and more. Participants will work on a writing project in this workshop and get feedback from Abby and other professional bloggers.

Let’s Go! Travel Blogging Workshop
Did you ever wish you could travel around the world blogging about your experiences? Meet one mom, Kim Orlando from TravelingMom.com, who does just that for a living. Better yet, she’ll tell you what’s involved in travel blogging and take you on a travel blogging adventure as you produce a travel blog entry of your own.

The Family That Blogs Together
Moms who started blogging when their kids are young are now parents of kids who are blogging and video blogging themselves. Learn how these families of mother-child digital media creators work together (and apart) and how blogging and v-logging affects the family dynamic.  Featuring Michele McGraw with Nathan and Sami, Stephanie Hansen with Xander, and Dwan Perrin with Tapanga, and moderated by Sarah Auerswald (also a blogger and mom of content creators).

The Sheraton is offering a special conference rate of $159 per night.
