Sarah AuerswaldSarah Auerswald is the co-Founder of MomsLA, a Community of over 100 of the Top Mom Bloggers in Los Angeles. She’s also the Mother of two Tween boys, and as such, has become quite an expert on the media they consume. She blogs about that on SarahAndSons.com. Sarah is a member of the Playstation Family Blogger group and a PBS Kids VIP Blogger, and has been a part of the Yahoo! Motherboard. Sarah’s blogging has landed her on the Oprah show, in the New York Times and on CNN.

Today, Tauni handles social media for a Salt Lake City agency and speaks to corporate groups on integrating social media into traditional messaging. She is also active in the blogging community. Maya GanensanMaya Ganesan has been writing poetry since she was four years old. In 2009, at age 11, she published Apologies to an Apple, her first full-length collection of poems. She has since been featured in several online and print journals and anthologies, such as Crab Creek Review, Hobble Creek Review, and Fire on Her Tongue (Two Sylvias Press, 2011). Maya has spoken at a number of local events, including TEDxRedmond, which she has also co-organized since its inception in 2010. Maya lives in Washington State, where she continues to write and publish poetry.

Xander HansenAlexander (Xander) Hansen’s love of creating digital content began by watching videos on YouTube.  Xander immediately knew he wanted to be a part of it! Xander created his first video by enlisting the help of his brother and a simple camera mounted on a tripod. He posted that video and the rest is history. That history includes several videos with hundreds of thousands of views (some approaching one million), a revenue share partnership with YouTube, and hundreds of subscribers on his YouTube channel.

 Xander  is constantly creating new content for his YouTube subscribers. He just recently jumped into the world of Twitter and Facebook and is currently working on expanding his Social Media reach.

Stephanie HansenStephanie Hansen left the corporate world 6 years ago to focus on her true love, chauffeuring, also known as, raising two teenagers. Stephanie didn’t leave her motivation in the boardroom. Instead, she began to immerse herself into the world of social media. 3.5 years later she is currently the Online Community Manager for 2 national magazines and handles social media for a DIY and craft conference. Stephanie considers herself to be well rounded and realizes that one can not live on work alone. Her spare time is spent reading, cooking, eating, blogging, tweeting, watching trashy reality TV, and cuddling up in her Snuggie while riding her unicorn. All this while raising 2 growing teenagers, a Papillon, and a chinchilla with her husband Brian.

Dwan Perrin gets up each morning, ties her cape on and sets out to change the world. As a single mother of three she left the corporate world to work from home and care for her daughter with special needs. Dwan has been involved in social media since 2000, starting blogging in 2006. She’s an avid traveler, writer, mom blogger, mentor and public speaker.

Dwan mentors teens in her free time and hopes to use her professional platform to educate and advocate for teen pregnancy prevention. A teen mom herself, Dwan feels very strongly about her role in this area. Making a difference in other young adults’ lives and being a good role model is something she strives for.

Sree Sreenivasan is a professor and Dean of Student Affairs at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he teaches in the digital media program, including social media and digital entrepreneurship. He specializes in explaining technology to journalists and the general public. He writes the SreeTips blog for CNET and appears regularly on CBS and elsewhere to talk tech. For more than eight years, he served as technology reporter for WABC-TV and WNBC-TV in NYC. During 2009-11, hewas part of the founding team of DNAinfo.com, a Manhattan news site with Joe Ricketts, Ameritrade founder (and new owner of the Chicago Cubs). The site was named one of the six hottest news startups of 2010 by BusinessInsider. He has written articles for The New York Times, BusinessWeek, Rolling Stone, National Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes and Popular Science. He is co-founder of SAJA, the South Asian Journalists Association, a group of 1,000+ journalists across the US & Canada. In 2009, he was named one of AdAge’s 25 media people to follow on Twitter and in 2010 was named one of Poynter’s the 35 most influential people in social media. He is creator of such learning opportunities as Social Media Weekend, Social Media One-Night Stand and more.
